AJ Networks plants native plants to restore bee habitat
- Rebuilding ecosystems damaged by heavy rains and flooding and improving the appearance of Yangjae Stream
AJ Networks (095570) announced on the 18th that it held a planting event with employees at Yangjae Stream in Seocho-gu, Seoul, to create an environment where bees, whose population has recently plummeted due to climate change, can live.
Last year, heavy rains and flooding uprooted the plants in Yangjae Stream, directly affecting the animals living there. In response, 20 volunteers from AJ Networks contributed to restoring the bee ecosystem and improving the appearance of Yangjae Stream by planting 100 Celix tricolor willow trees and 60 morning glories in the form of seed balls in Yangjae Stream on the 15th.
In particular, Celix tricolor willow has a carbon absorption function four times higher than that of ordinary pine trees, and the company expects that the planting activity will not only help restore the bee habitat but also absorb fine dust and prevent global warming.
The event was held in collaboration with Changemaker, a non-profit corporation authorized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. ChangeMaker is a domestic NGO that specializes in corporate social contribution activities and conducts various social contribution activities for the underprivileged with domestic and foreign companies.
An official from AJ Networks said, "As part of our efforts to preserve the biodiversity of plants and animals threatened by climate change, we are promoting this volunteer activity to stop the decline of bees, which is a global problem." "We will continue to take responsibility for improving the environment and pass on a healthy and sustainable natural heritage to the next generation," he said.
