AJ Networks Launches Bird Collision Prevention Campaign
- Program to create an ecological environment for human-nature coexistence
On October 20, AJ Networks, in collaboration with the Nature's Boot Institute, launched a campaign to prevent bird collisions.
AJ Networks conducted a 'Bird Collision Prevention Campaign' at the 'Smart shelter' at the Ogeum-ro Jungang-daero bus stop.
AJ Networks, Korea's leading rental company, is actively engaged in bird collision prevention activities in urban centers to save the lives of wild birds.
Currently, it is estimated that a large number of wild birds, more than 8 million per year, are killed by colliding with transparent glass structures, and 17 endangered wild bird species, including eagle owls, owls, and armadillos, are confirmed to be among them.
To help prevent damage to wild birds caused by man-made structures, AJ Networks, in collaboration with the Nature's Boot Institute held a 'Bird Collision Prevention Campaign' at the 'Smart shelter', a state-of-the-art bus stop built at the Ogeum-ro median lane bus stop in front of Songpa-gu Office in Seoul.
The event was attended by 20 volunteers from AJ employees and officials from the Nature's Boot Institute, who applied collision prevention stickers with patterns 5 centimeters wide and 10 centimeters long on the front of the transparent glass wall installed at the smart shelter in accordance with the Ministry of Environment's guidelines.
The company plans to support the attachment of bird collision prevention stickers to the Sungnyemun Smart Shelter on the 22nd, and expects to reduce the frequency of bird collisions at the two smart shelters by more than 90% through this campaign, contributing to the preservation of biodiversity.
An official from AJ Networks said, "This campaign is a program to create an ecological environment for the purpose of coexistence between humans and nature, following the 'Classroom Art Project' launched in May." "We will continue to take the lead in creating an environment where we can live together with nature through various activities."
